beauty - GO NATURAL OR GO TO THE DERMATOLOGIST!
Having learned it the hard way, I now certainly know what one vital label I need to look for when buying makeup: Organic!
A research carried out by the non-profit Environmental Working Group in the United States reveals alarming results about the use of chemicals in cosmetics. According to it, a woman’s face and body encounter a mean of 168 chemicals every day in the form of cosmetics and other personal care products, a lot of which are carcinogens and hormone-like which interfere with their reproductive systems.

Some of the harmful chemicals, amongst others, frequently used in cosmetics that you need to be watchful of, are:
Parabens
These chemicals, used as a preservative in cosmetics, can easily penetrate the skin and are responsible for causing hormonal imbalance in your body. They have an estrogen-like effect and have been retrieved from breast cancer tissue.

Silicone
These are used in lotions and other products to supposedly soften your skin and lock in hydration. However, they form a layer on your skin that aggregates acne and interferes with cell regeneration. The names of silicones usually end with “-cone”, “-siloxane” or “-conol” so please read labels carefully before you buy any product that goes on your skin!

Phthalates
These, again can cause hormonal imbalances in the body, resulting in reproductive changes (for example, infertility) and obesity.
Lead
This is a BIG no for your skin! Surprisingly, in a research, 33 brands of lipstick were tested for the presence of lead and 61% of them contained it! The neurotoxicity of lead has been proven and that is why lead pipes, lead-containing paints and lead-containing fuel has been banned by many countries across the world. So, why would you put it on your lips?
These are just a few of the many chemicals used routinely in the cosmetic industry. Other chemicals include cancer-causing substances as well.
Better be safe than sorry! Change your skin care routine from today. Filter out all products that contain these from your makeup bag and keep them where they belong, which is, in the trash!
So, is there any way you can still wear pretty makeup every day without it causing all of these reactions? The answer is a big YES! With increasing awareness about the use of harsh chemicals in the makeup industry, multiple companies have emerged that guarantee you organic, natural, chemical-free makeup!
One of them is
RDKL, which has a complete range of chemical-free makeup that you can put on without having to wreck your skin.
Although these products may initially cost a bit more than their chemical counterparts, they’re definitely worth the investment! Besides, the dermatologist appointment after using the cheap inorganic makeup on your skin would cost way more. So, in the long run, these do actually cost less!
Your skin is the largest organ of your body. Be gentle with it and treat it with the quality it deserves!
